Jay Leno and his 10 pm talk show. NBC giving Matt Leblanc his own spin off show after Friends. The Portland Trailblazers drafting Sam Bowie rather than Michael Jordan.
All of these can be described as bad decisions. After tonight, we can now add one more to this ever growing list.
Lebron James is joining the Miami Heat. He chose the Heat over the Bulls, Clippers, Nets, Knicks, and Cavaliers. During the interview, James stated that “"Winning is a huge thing for me".
On paper, this team looks like it has the makings of a dynasty. Las Vegas already has the Heat as 3-1 favorites to win the NBA title next June.
In my opinion, this team has the makings of a train wreck. James, Wade, and Bosh are all great players. They were all the go to guys for their respective teams last year. Which player is going to be the go to guy for the Heat next year? I guarantee that Lebron is planning on it being him. Wade however has always been “the man” in Miami. He even brought the city its first NBA championship only a few short years ago. Chris Bosh is the Toronto Raptors all time leading scorer and rebounder. What’s going to happen when the Heat have to draw up one last play in an attempt to win the game. They only have time for one shot. Who will get that shot? All three of them are used to taking that shot. It’s only a matter of time before somebody gets frustrated because they are not getting the ball enough.
And what about the other 9 guys on the team? They can just forget about getting the ball.
No matter how many superstars you have on your team, there is only one basketball. Lebron told us tonight that “It's not about individuals. It's about a team."
We’ll see if it’s still about a team this fall.
