Quarterback shuffle

The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Oakland Raiders yesterday to fall to 0-2 on this young season. Damon Huard, who started the game, left in the first quarter after suffering "mild head trauma". Tyler Thigpen, the 3rd string QB who has thrown only 6 passes in his short NFL career, came in and finished 14-33 for 151 yards and a touchdown.
Brodie Croyle, the opening day starter, is out for a few more weeks with a separated shoulder. The status of Damon Huard is unknown until sometime today. So for right now, the Chiefs have Tyler Thigpen as their starting quarterback going into next week against Atlanta. They will be looking to break their 11 game regular season losing streak.
This is not a good situation for the Chiefs. I am expecting them to sign a veteran quarterback this week. I'd like to see them try and lure Daunte Culpepper out of retirement. He'd be a good guy to come in and hold court until one of the other qb's comes back. Worst case scenario, Daunte leads the Chiefs for the rest of the year. Then, they go out and get a quarterback in the off season, via draft or free agency.
Was I disappointed by their loss this week, yes. Will this 0-2 start (same as the Lions) make me any less of a Chiefs fan, no. These two losses are completely different. In week 1, the Chiefs lost to the Patriots 17-10 in a game that everyone thought that KC was going to get blown away in. The Lions got blown out in a game that everyone thought that they would win. In week 2, the Chiefs lost to the Raiders in a game that some thought they would win. The Lions choked in the 4th quarter and ended up getting run out of their own building by the Packers.
The Chiefs quarterback situation makes me a little uneasy, but I am still optimistic about a decent year. Lions fans, how do you feel?
